TRUJILLO

Trujillo is the capital city of La Libertad, and is known as the City of the Everlasting Spring, for its privileged climate. This area was inhabited by two important ancient Peru civilizations, Mochica and Chimu and then it was an important Colonial city. Among its countless archaeological attractions its Chan Chan, the largest mud citadel in America and ancient Chimu capital city. It was placed by UNESCO in the World Cultural Heritage List in 1986.
